History of our Land

Our stables lies on 315 acres. This is a horse lovers paradise. What many don't know is this land was the site of the Civil War. This is also some of the land that TVA used to build Douglas Dam. There is a 17th century cemetery {Ellis Family }on the property. You also ride along the French Broad River and pass where Kyker's Ferry use to cross.

Our Trails

We have several different trails that you can choose from that our guides will take you on. We have had several guest who have came many times and has never been on the same trail . We offer different ride times open for the beginner rider to the most experinced rider. We offer three rides: one is the 1/2 hour ride, 1 hour ride, and by reservation only a 2 hour ride.

1/2 hr Ride: $20.00

1 hr Ride: $40.00

2 hr Ride: $80.00

Our Horses

We have some of the most beautiful horses you have seen. Our horses are very well behaved and kind. Many of our horses are kid broke and friendly. We do have an easy loading and unloading ramp to help our guest enjoy the experience.

Due to Tennessee law we do have restrictions on the age of our young riders. We are unable to ride anyone 5 years old or younger.

French Broad Riding Stables will offer appointment return times if a customer wishes not to wait due to rides being out, but this will only be a held time if payment is taken. When a time is assigned and the customer does not show at the given time they forfeit any return of money. It is at the owners' discretion if a rain check will be offered depending on why a no show or late show occurred.
